At DRK Builder Ltd, we are seeking skilled Masons to join our team in Mauritius This full-time role involves constructing and repairing structures made of brick, block, stone, and other materials. Key responsibilities include reading blueprints, laying bricks and stones, plastering, mixing and applying mortar, and ensuring structural integrity and quality. The ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of safety regulations and masonry techniques is essential. Qualifications/Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Practical experience working in the construction industry.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Read blueprints or drawings to calculate materials needed.
• Build structures with brick, block and stone.
• Break or cut materials to required size.
• Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto a slab or foundation.
• Clean excess mortar with trowels and other hand tools.
• Construct and plastering of masonry walls.
• Align structures, using levels and plumbs.
• Clean and polish surfaces with hand tools or power tools.
• Fill expansion joints with caulking materials.
• Plastering the walls.

Skills required:

• Ability to work at heights – Masonry workers often use scaffolding, so they should be comfortable working at heights.
• Colour vision – Need to be able to distinguish between small variations in colour when setting terrazzo patterns to produce the best-looking finish.
• Dexterity – Masonry workers must be able to place bricks, stones, and other materials with precision.
• Hand-eye coordination – Masonry workers need to apply smooth, even layers of mortar; set bricks; and remove any excess before the mortar hardens.
• Physical stamina – Workers must keep up a steady pace while setting bricks, and the constant lifting can be tiring.
• Physical strength – They carry heavy tools, equipment, and other materials, such as bags of mortar and grout.
